Deshaun Watson, Browns quarterback, sends a parting message to Amari Cooper
|Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson sends a parting message to Amari Cooper.
Deshaun Watson will have to try to turn things around for the Cleveland Browns without his top wide receiver, Amari Cooper.
The Browns traded Cooper to the Buffalo Bills this week, receiving a third-round pick in return for the team’s leading pass-catcher over the previous two seasons. Cooper had only 24 receptions for 250 yards and two scores in six games this season, as the Browns’ offense struggled immensely.
During his Thursday media appearance, Watson said goodbye to Cooper and wished him luck in Buffalo.
“The main thing is that Coop is my brother. We’ve gotten to know each other over the previous three years, not just on the field, but also off the field, hanging out in the off season and spending time with our families,” Watson added. “He helped me get through some terrible times, and vice versa. So, it’s absolutely difficult to see a brother and a
teammate that means a lot, not only to me, but to the entire locker room, get moved away. But you have to trust the organization and what AB (Andrew Berry), Kevin (Stefanski), and the men upstairs have planned, which is beyond my control. But at the same time, we will undoubtedly miss him.
