Breaking: Chicago Blackhawks confirm the exit of 24-year-old forward to Florida Panthers.

Entwistle, 24, played a career-high 67 games with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2023-24.

SUNRISE, Florida – Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Zito announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward MacKenzie Entwistle on a one-year, two-way deal.

Entwistle, 24, appeared in 67 games for the Chicago Blackhawks in 2023-24, matching his single-season career high of five goals (5-6-11). His 139 hits ranked third among Blackhawks forwards, as did his 47 PIMs.

The Georgetown, Ontario native stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 205 pounds. He has played 193 NHL games, all with Chicago, from 2020-21 to 2023-24, and has 35 points (15-20-35). He also appeared in 80 American Hockey League (AHL) games for Chicago’s club, the Rockford IceHogs, scoring 39 points (15-24-39) between 2019-20 and 2021-22.

Prior to his professional career, Entwistle spent four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), with the Hamilton Bulldogs (2015-16 to 2018-19) and the Guelph Storm (2018-19), totaling 134 points (61-73-134) and 125 PIMs in 220 regular season games. He captained Hamilton in 2018-19 and won back-to-back OHL championships with Hamilton (2017-18) and Guelph (2018-19).

Entwistle represented Canada in the 2017 IIHF U18 World Championship and the 2019 IIHF U20 World Junior Championship, when he led the team with four goals and seven points.

The Arizona Coyotes originally chose Entwistle in the third round (69th overall) at the 2017 NHL Draft.
