Just In: The Chicago Blackhawks add five additional players on Day Two of the NHL draft.

The Blackhawks acquired five additional players on the second day of the NHL draft Saturday, after selecting three in the first round on Friday.

The Blackhawks picked defenseman Artyom Levshunov (second overall) in the first round on Friday, along with forwards Sacha Boisvert (18th) and Marek Vanacker (27th).

The Blackhawks selected forward John Mustard in the third round on Saturday, ranking 67th overall.

Mustard, 17, suited up in 60 regular-games with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL during the 2023-24 season, notching 56 points. His 29 goals led all USHL rookies, while his 56 points rank second among all league first-years.

He scored more goals than any other Waterloo skater and finished second in points among all club skaters. Mustard also received USHL Rookie of the Year accolades and was named to the USHL All-Rookie Team in 2023-24. He has committed to Providence College for the 2024-25 season.

Five choices later in the third round, the Blackhawks selected forward A.J. Spellacy.

Spellacy, 18, made career highs in games played (67), goals (21), assists (17), and points (38) with the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League past season. His 21 goals placed fourth among all Windsor skaters, while his 38 points tied for fifth on the team.

Spellacy also helped Team USA win a bronze medal in the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, recording one assist in five games.

The Carolina Hurricanes traded their 92nd overall pick in the third round to the Blackhawks in exchange for Chicago’s natural third-round pick in the 2025 NHL draft. With the 92nd overall pick, Chicago selected forward Jack Pridham.

Pridham, 18, played 54 regular-season games for the West Kelowna Warriors of the BCHL last season, scoring 49 points and earning BCHL All-Rookie Team honors.

Pridham also scored 11 points in ten postseason games during 2023-24. His eight goals topped all West Kelowna skaters, and his eleven points were second among all club skaters.

Pridham is committed to Boston University.

The Hawks selected forward Joel Svensson in the fifth round, 138th overall.

Svensson, 19, played 25 regular-season games with the Vaxjo Lakers HC (J20 Nationell) in 2023-24, scoring 33 points. His 24 goals ranked seventh among all league skaters, while his 33 points were sixth among all Vaxjo skaters.

He also appeared in ten games for Kristianstads IK (HockeyEttan), scoring eight points. Svensson also recorded one assist in seven games with the Vaxjo Lakers HC (SHL).

The team drafted defenseman Ty Henry in the sixth round, 163rd overall.

Henry, 17, appeared in a career-high 54 regular-season games with the Erie Otters (OHL) in 2023-24, recording seven assists. His seven assists and seven points both ranked fifth among all Erie blueliners. Henry also played in six postseason games for the Otters in 2023-24.
