Swansea City and Oxford United will both play Championship football next season, after the U’s won promotion from League One through the play-offs.

Des Buckingham’s squad won the final against Bolton Wanderers after defeating Peterborough United in two legs. It sees them embark on an exciting new phase, but a critical summer window awaits before the campaign begins.

Josh Murphy, a vital player, has already been lost, since Portsmouth signed him at the end of his contract. Another star attacker is drawing admiring looks.

According to reporter Alan Nixon’s Patreon, Welsh forward Mark Harris is attracting interest from Championship rivals Swansea City.

Luke Williams is looking to add to his offensive options, and Harris, who had a solid first season with Oxford United, is one player on his radar. Over 55 games, the 25-year-old scored 19 goals and four assists in his greatest season to date.

Swansea City fans may be familiar with Harris from his stint with Cardiff City.

He only left the Bluebirds for Oxford United on a free transfer, looking to move on from South Wales. He has done just that, hitting new heights and demonstrating what he is capable of given more consistent and meaningful minutes.

Harris scored 10 goals and assisted twice in 95 outings for Cardiff after rising through the youth ranks. He has already surpassed that amount with Oxford, reaching new heights following a dip to League One.

Harris will be determined to show that his abilities can help him prosper at this level after struggling to make an impact with his old team.

The striker options at the Swansea.com Stadium look set for a bit of a revamp.

Jerry Yates is expected to join Championship rivals Derby County on loan, while Ukrainian forward Mykola Kukharevych’s future is also uncertain. Exiting those two would leave only Liam Cullen as a natural choice at the top of the lineup.

If there are departures, Harris may fill the void, although Williams and co are sure to have plenty of prospective recruits in mind as they try to have a successful summer transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether Harris’s curiosity will bear fruit. He might be an eye-catching addition for Swansea City, though, given his record with promotion winners Oxford.
