Breaking: Swansea City are closing in on deals to make three shrewd signings before August.

Despite some early crushing defeats, the Swans improved after Williams’ arrival, and by the conclusion of the season, Swansea appeared to be a decent side, but it’s evident they have work to do in the transfer window.

There are still some noticeable weaknesses in Swansea’s squad, particularly in crucial positions, so Williams will undoubtedly need to make some acquisitions before the Championship season begins on August 10.

With that in mind, here are three clever additions Swansea should make before the August 30th deadline.

Lukas Jensen

Lukas Jensen Lincoln City

Swansea City are desperately in need of a goalkeeper, preferably a long-term permanent one following Carl Rushworth’s loan spell coming to an end, and Lincoln City man Lukas Jensen fits the bill perfectly.

The 25-year-old is still young for a goalkeeper but the man from Denmark impressed in his first season with the Imps after previously coming through the ranks at Burnley.

Jensen appeared 50 times in all competitions for Lincoln last season, keeping 21 clean sheets and conceding 43 goals, a remarkable ratio that should put him on Swansea’s radar this summer after receiving the Player of the Season award at Sincil Bank.

The former Burnley player went on loan to Carlisle and Accrington Stanley while with the Clarets, and with only one year left on his contract at Lincoln, he should be affordable for Swansea if they want to buy him.

Alex Mighten

ALEX MIGHTEN PORT VALE SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Swansea City are looking for a winger this summer, and Nottingham Forest’s Alex Mighten could be an ideal signing, with the 22-year-old having plenty of Championship experience.

Mighten has just one year left on his contract at the City Ground, so he should be available for a low sum, and he appears to have no future at the club, having spent the 2023/24 season on loan with KV Kortrijk and Port Vale.

Williams addressed Swansea’s need for wingers in January by signing Ronald and Przemyslaw Placheta, but the latter left after his short-term contract expired.

Ronald has dominated the right-wing position, but Mighten is a left-winger who might add to Swansea’s roster without breaking the bank.

The 22-year-old has played 55 Championship games for Forest, scoring four goals and assisting twice, and it’s fair to conclude that he has to go this summer to restart his career.

Macaulay Langstaff

It's pointless' - Notts County striker Macaulay Langstaff - who was told to 'f*ck off' by Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney - responds to Wrexham transfer rumours | Goal.com

A natural suggestion given the fact his former boss, Williams, is at Swansea, but the Swans need a proven goalscorer this summer, and Macaulay Langstaff could be that man.

He scored 28 goals in 46 League Two games for Notts County last season, making him the division’s top scorer, and with Liam Cullen, Jerry Yates, and Mykola Kukharevych all failing to score on a regular basis for Swansea last season, a move for Langstaff makes sense.

Of course, there are reservations about signing a 27-year-old who has never played beyond League Two, but scoring 28 goals in his debut season in the EFL justifies a promotion, and Williams will undoubtedly be able to get the most out of him.

Langstaff was recently appointed captain at Meadow Lane, so it’s unclear whether he’d be interested in a move, but the opportunity to reconnect with Williams in the Championship could be too appealing for the 27-year-old.
