Breaking: Blackhawks signs 25 year old forward to a one-year contract extension

The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Thursday that they had agreed to terms with forward Cole Guttman on a one-year, two-way contract that will extend through the 2024-25 season ($775,000 salary cap hit).

Guttman, 25, had eight points in 27 games for the Blackhawks during the 2023-24 season. He also had 40 points in 39 games with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League, setting career highs in assists and points.

The 5-foot-9, 167-pound forward has 14 points in 41 NHL games for Chicago and 70 points in 78 AHL games with Rockford.

The Northridge, California native was picked by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the sixth round (180th overall) at the 2017 NHL Draft.
