Breaking: Raiders Closing In On Deal To Sign $56 Million Star Pass-Rusher

Antonio Pierce and the Las Vegas Raiders are very optimistic about the upcoming 2024 NFL season. After years of struggling and missing the playoffs, things are finally looking up for the franchise. Hopefully, they can put everything together and make a serious run at the postseason.

With that in mind, there are still quite a few questions surrounding the Raiders. Most notably, who will end up being the team’s starting quarterback?

Aidan O’Connell seems to be first up with a chance to win the job. Pierce and the coaching staff have been very vocal about how much they like the young quarterback. However, the Raiders did go out and sign veteran quarterback Gardner Minshew in free agency this offseason to compete for the job.

Also, the Las Vegas Raiders could use a little more firepower on the defensive side of the football. That is where one trade that they were recently linked to could come into play.

Las Vegas Raiders Linked To Huge Trade For Star Pass-Rusher

In a recent article from Bleacher Report, analyst Alex Ballentine looked at some potential trade targets for the Raiders before the 2024 season. He linked them as a potential trade suitor for New England Patriots star pass-rusher Matthew Judon.

“That being said, a one-year flier on Matt Judon would give them one of the deepest pass rushes in the game. There’s risk. He’s going into his age-32 season after playing just four games in 2023 before a bicep tear ended his year. But when he’s been on the field he’s been highly productive. He had 28 combined sacks in 2021 and 2022.”

Judon would certainly be an intriguing addition for the Raiders. Across from Maxx Crosby, he could do some major damage. The Las Vegas Raiders would have one of the league’s most formidable one-two punches from a pass-rushing perspective.

During the 2023 season with the Patriots, Judon ended up playing in just four games due to injury. However, back in 2022, he played in 17 games and racked up 60 total tackles to go along with 15.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and seven defended passes.

Those numbers show the kind of impact he could make on either the Patriots or any team that got aggressive to trade for him.

If the Las Vegas Raiders want to make a major impact move on the defensive side of the ball, this would be one to look at. Clearly, it’s all hypothetical at this point in time, but the idea would make a lot of sense.

Expect to continue hearing trade ideas and rumblings as the 2024 season draws closer. The Raiders may not end up making any moves, but they should at least be scanning the market to see if they can improve their roster.
