TODAY: Jack Harrison of Leeds United has an Everton transfer plan, which Sean Dyche disclosed.

Sean Dyche, the manager of Everton, says the Merseyside team will “see what they can do” when they get ready to discuss the prospect of paying for Jack Harrison to transfer permanently to Goodison Park this summer.

Nearly a year ago, the Leeds United player left on loan for Merseyside after the Whites were relegated from the Premier League. With one game left, the Toffees are 11 points clear of the relegation zone in 15th place in the top flight rankings thanks in large part to his contributions.

Harrison has made 29 Premier League games, helping Everton with three assists and three goals. The Toffees will probably have to sell players this summer before they can try to sign Harrison permanently as they look to avoid more penalties. The team has already lost two games this season due to violations of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability standards.

However, Dyche has said he would like the team to look into making Harrison a permanent move. Regarding a potential deal for the former Manchester City player, he stated, “We will wait and see.” Making sure we were safe came first, and only after that could we reassess the internal reality of our options in terms of finances, so that would be a continuous process.

Harrison’s future may also depend on Leeds’ performance in the play-offs, according to reports. If the Whites can immediately return to the top flight and face Norwich City in the semi-finals—West Brom or Southampton will be waiting at Wembley—and Daniel Farke’s team can defeat the Canaries over two legs, they will have a stronger negotiating position. Harrison was injured on Saturday, preventing him from playing in the 1-0 victory over Sheffield United, and Dyche acknowledged as much. “Jack is hurt, and it doesn’t seem like we’ll get him back before the season ends,” he stated. It’s unfortunate because he has excelled in his numerous football games.

Dyche continued, “His tactical understanding is excellent, in two roles really, wide or in the number 10 spot.” This further reflected on the winger’s influence for Everton. He has a great work ethic as well. He is incredibly skilled, as we have seen in training, and I have talked to him about realizing that potential. However, I still believe there is more to him. He has, in my opinion, performed consistently for us throughout the season and done really well.

Harrison had a hip problem when he signed for Everton in August. In 2018, he made his loan move from Man City to Leeds. After two further loan stints at Elland Road, he signed a three-year deal for approximately £11 million in 2021 to remain in West Yorkshire. Harrison signed a new five-year contract with Leeds in April, which would keep him with the team until 2028, ahead of Leeds’ relegation last summer. Last summer, Aston Villa also showed interest in the midfielder; nevertheless, it seems Everton will be the front-runners to get him should Leeds decide to let him go.
