The Ireland international joined the Glasgow giants on a straight loan late in the January window, and it’s fair to say that the move was not well received by Celtic fans at initially.

However, Idah has effectively silenced any naysayers, netting seven goals in 12 league appearances for Brendan Rodgers to help them regain control of the title race.

Crucially, many of those goals were important, including late winners against Motherwell and Hibs, and he also scored in a 3-3 draw with Rangers last month.

Despite having to settle for a bench spot in recent weeks due to Kyogo Furuhashi’s form, Idah continues to play regularly, and he is expected to play some role in the derby against Rangers on Saturday, which might decide the title battle.

As a result, it should come as no surprise that Celtic want to keep Idah in Scotland, with reports indicating that a £5 million fee will be required for the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window.

In addition, Football Insider has learned that Idah wants to continue with Celtic.

“Adam Idah is “extremely keen” to convert his Celtic loan deal into a permanent move from Norwich City. The Canaries have reportedly offered the Glasgow club a £5 million price to sign the Republic of Ireland international permanently once the transfer window reopens.

“The forward, whose contract runs until 2028, wants to play in the Champions League next season, with the Hoops three points ahead of Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership.”

“Sources have suggested all parties are now keen to make the deal happen over the coming weeks.”

As previously said, Norwich are not under any pressure to sell Idah because he still has four years left on his contract at Carrow Road, but the player’s wishes are undoubtedly a factor.

Norwich can’t plan forward for the summer since they don’t know the division they’ll be in, with David Wagner’s team poised to face Leeds United in the playoffs.

The recruitment staff will compile two lists of possible acquisitions, but it appears like Idah could be on the move. And, in that scenario, they will undoubtedly be looking for a new number nine.

Sydney van Hooijdonk replaced Idah earlier this year, although he has struggled to make an impact, appearing in only eleven games, the most of which came from the bench.

With Ashley Barnes struggling with fitness, the Canaries are relying heavily on Josh Sargent, and the USA international could go if the club does not gain promotion to the Premier League.

So, it’s a crucial summer for Norwich in terms of forwards, and it will be interesting to watch what happens once they know which league they will play in.
