Breaking: Crystal Palace are reportedly looking to sign 26-year-old English striker from Luton Town during the summer transfer season.

Adebayo hopes to bounce after Luton defeat

According to Give Me Sport, Crystal Palace has expressed interest in Elijah Adebayo. The 26-year-old striker could depart Luton Town in the summer transfer window if the Hatters are demoted from the Premier League at the end of the 2023/24 season. Other clubs, including Bournemouth, are interested in signing the Luton attacker.

Elijah Adebayo has been a standout signing for Luton Town since joining from Fulham in February 2021. He was born in London and spent his childhood there, progressing through the ranks at Fulham before graduating from the West London club’s youth level.

However, the Englishman was unable to establish himself in Fulham’s first-team squad, and he was loaned out several times until joining Luton Town permanently. Aside from his first full season, the 26-year-old has never been particularly productive in the final third, but he has had a strong 2023/24 season.

Adebayo has scored ten goals in 25 Premier League outings, forming a formidable striking tandem with Carlton Morris. However, the London native faces an unclear future at Luton Town as the Hatters struggle to maintain their Premier League position. Such a circumstance has not gone unnoticed, drawing the attention of Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace’s interest in Elijah Adebayo is understandable. The South London team is set to look for a striker during the summer transfer season. While Jean-Philippe Mateta has been outstanding in recent weeks, Odsonne Edouard has failed to make an impact.

So, Crystal Palace should invest on a productive striker, with Adebayo appearing as a potential option. The Eagles are also considering numerous other candidates, including Tammy Abraham. Eddie Nketiah is another option for Crystal Palace, but the Luton Town forward is an appealing alternative.

The 26-year-old striker will most certainly quit Luton Town if the club fails to avoid relegation, despite Rob Edwards’ desire for him to remain at Kenilworth Road regardless of the Hatters’ fate this season. It will be intriguing to watch whether the Englishman joins Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window.
