Vamos Sevilla FC claims that Fulham is prepared to rekindle its interest in 29-year-old Argentine forward Lucas Ocampos because of their strong interest in him. Sevilla is prepared to let go of the attacker, who is still content at the team, even though their financial issues may take priority.

In order to replace Aleksandar Mitrovic as their striker, Fulham searched for a fresh player last summer. Raul Jimenez was signed early in the window, but they were still in need of a marksman. At the time, they had Lucas Ocampos on their list of objectives, but the Cottagers were unable to close a deal with Sevilla.

Fortunately for them, Rodrigo Muniz has risen to the occasion and established himself as their first-choice center striker in recent months. Marco Silva may decide to keep Muniz in the lead role for the upcoming season, but he will likely want more help—likely to take Jimenez’s place, given he hasn’t played well this year.

The 29-year-old Argentine forward is expected to become available in the market, therefore the Cottagers intend to return to Sevilla in order to get Ocampos. Ocampos has had a lackluster season because he hasn’t been able to produce goals commensurate with his ability, even if the squad has struggled this year.

Sevilla is expecting Fulham makes a similar offer as they did in the summer, but given the 29-year-old Argentine forward’s contractual predicament, the Cottagers may proceed with a cheaper offer. Given Ocampos’s remaining year and the financial difficulties facing the Spanish team, Fulham is willing to make a low offer and maintain their confidence in their ability to push it through.

To sell Ocampos for Sevilla?
With player sales, Sevilla hopes to take full advantage of the upcoming window and raise some much-needed cash. Victor Orta, a former director of Leeds United who is currently at the Spanish club, has a difficult task ahead of him. It is said that he has put every player, including Ocampos and a few other prominent names, up for sale.

Transfermarkt reports that Ocampos is only worth €12 million. However, given that he still had time left on his Sevilla deal, that might have had an impact. In any event, a team like Fulham is probably going to make an offer around that amount in an attempt to sign him and add him to their attacking lineup in London.
