Breaking: Broncos exploring deal to land a 5-star worth $98.3 million

Even with a late-season surge, the Denver Broncos still failed to make their most recent campaign relevant. In order to improve the team, especially on offense, the front office will have to explore the option of trading wide receiver Jerry Jeudy in the offseason.

Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos

As it stands, the Broncos were in the bottom half of the league when it came to both offense and defense last season. Their defense, in particular, was in 27th place out of the 32 teams playing in the NFL.

Denver’s offense, meanwhile, was ranked 19th. This slump can be traced back to Russell Wilson’s subpar performance last year, which led the team to field Jarrett Stidham in their final two games.

In the end, the Broncos placed third in the AFC East division by finishing with an 8-9 record. Now, the team must assess the moves it’s going to make to become more competitive next season.

Main Reason Why Jerry Jeudy Must Be Traded By The Denver Broncos

Among the moves that can be explored is trading Jeudy to another team. Aaron Schatz explains more in his article for ESPN:

“Jeudy has not lived up to his first-round draft status. Jeudy’s best season was 2022, when he had six touchdowns and nearly 1,000 yards, but that’s his only standout season in my advanced stats. He ranked 17th in receiving value by DYAR that season.

He was 57th in 2023 and 66th and 86th in his other two seasons. Jeudy might be attractive to a team that thinks it is close to a title and just needs an upgrade at wide receiver. The Broncos could get some draft value for Jeudy before losing him to free agency in 2025,” Schatz wrote.

Taking Jeudy out of the equation can become a simple case of addition by subtraction. In doing so, the Broncos can target better players in free agency, while giving young guys like Marvin Mims Jr. or Tim Patrick a chance to improve in Jeudy’s position.
