This offseason, the Chicago Bears will need to make changes at wide receiver. Former Atlanta Falcon Mack Hollins is a name that might make sense in free agency.

Does Mack Hollins need to be signed by the Chicago Bears in free agency this offseason?
Mack Hollins was previously selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round. His hip injury kept him out of the game for the whole second season, and he did not play much as a rookie. In his third year, he was released and signed with the Miami Dolphins.

After three seasons with Miami, he moved on to the Las Vegas Raiders, where he saw a career-high in snaps, mainly because he was trusted as a run blocker. That is why the Atlanta Falcons signed him the following offseason. While he was able to get work with the Falcons, he did not fit exactly what the offense wanted. More than that, the coaching staff changed, so the chances of Hollins re-signing with Atlanta went down significantly.

Mack Hollins makes sense for the Chicago Bears when you view him as an upgrade from Equanimeous St. Brown. Both are big-bodied wide receivers who are better at blocking. Both of them will find roles in the NFL for years to come because of the value of special teams.  However, Hollins has 941 yards in the last two years, while St. Brown is at 385. Hollins also averages 1.12 yards per route run, while St. Brown is at 1.04. Hollins can do what St. Brown can, but also brings some of the elements needed from an NFL wide receiver.

The price to sign him will not be expensive, and as a fourth or fifth wide out, every team needs a player like Mack Hollins. Should the Chicago Bears have any interest in free agency?
