NEW DELHI: In response to his horse-collar tackle of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy during Super Bowl LVIII, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton has been fined $8,238 by the NFL.
The Chiefs’ exciting 25-22 overtime triumph in Las Vegas on February 11 was marred by a 15-yard penalty following the incident that happened in the second quarter.

While Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed received a personal foul for unnecessary roughness during the game, he did not incur a fine.
In a standout performance during the Super Bowl, Bolton, 23, tied with San Francisco’s Fred Warner for the game-high with 13 tackles. Additionally, Bolton contributed one tackle for loss and delivered two quarterback hits against the 49ers.

Bolton was selected by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft and has since shown to be an important defensive player. His impact on the field has been demonstrated by his 352 tackles, two sacks, and three interceptions in 41 career regular-season games (37 starts).
