Milwaukee Brewers: 21 Year Old Pitching Prospect Ranked 5th Best Per MLB Pipeline

The Milwaukee Brewers have done a nice job finding and developing pitching talent over the years. They have done this through free agent/waiver pickups, trades, international signings, and through the draft. One of those players is 21 year old Jacob Misiorowski in which he was drafted in the second round of the 2022 MLB draft despite playing at a junior college.

When the Brewers selected Misiorowski some draft experts believed that Milwaukee had the steal of the draft by selecting him 63rd overall. His ability to reach triple digits and strike batters out was appealing, but command and the ability for this to translate to affiliated baseball were some concerns. So far he has not disappointed and MLB Pipeline recently ranked him as the fifth best right-handed pitching prospect.

Milwaukee Brewers Jacob Misiorowski is the fifth best pitching prospect per MLB Pipeline.

Ahead of Misiorowski on MLB Pipeline’s ranking is the first overall selection in the 2023 MLB draft Paul Skenes.  Jackson Jobe of the Detroit Tigers, Cade Horton of the Chicago Cubs, and Andrew Painter of the Philadelphia Phillies are the others listed above him.

Last year Misiorowski advanced through both Low-A and High-A. His final stop was Double-A in which he made five starts there before being shut down slightly early due to shoulder fatigue. There were some rumblings last fall that he could be called up to the Brewers big league roster, so it is not out of the question to think that he could make his MLB debut in 2024.
