Tom Brady has insisted that all of the blame can’t be laid at the feet of Dallas Cowboys head coach, Mike McCarthy, after the were eliminated from the NFL postseason.

The postseason turned into disaster against the Green Bay Packers, after the Cowboys were embarrassed in a 48-32 loss at the AT&T Stadium which saw them give up 34 points across the second and third quarter.

It’s led to calls for McCarthy to depart the organization after another year of a strong-season-play-off elimination heart-break, but Brady has loudly defended the boss.

“You can’t blame a loss on one coach like yesterday,” Brady said to the Let’s Go podcast. “You can’t blame a whole loss on one.

“There was a team giving out 45 points and quarterbacks throwing interceptions for touchdowns. Yeah, everybody’s responsible. That’s the point. We’re all in it together, man. And when we win, it’s amazing. And when we lose, we’re all in it together.”

Mike McCarthy’s Cowboys future
The Texas-based team headed into the play-offs with a lot of hope after Dak Prescott and Ceedee Lamb produced incredible seasons to win them the NFC East ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles.

And now after four years with the franchise, which has won five Super Bowls since 1971, McCarthy could be poised for new pastures, with Bill Belichick being one of the names on the market to replace him.

Whilst the 80-year-old billionaire owner of the organization, Jerry Jones, also admitted he hasn’t thought about dismissing McCarthy, which is consistent with him saying that he would take changes to the Cowboys one game at a time.

“I haven’t thought one second about it,” Jones said. “My whole thought process was getting ready for a playoff game here next week. I am amazed to be sitting where we are right now.”

Brady thinks it would be a mistake to let him go after they made the postseason in 2021, 2022 and 2023 winning the NFC East on two of those occasions, and McCarthy admitted he didn’t expect such an early exit.
