Liverpool is currently planning to replace the “world-class” player with a 23-year-old talent.

According to reports, Liverpool is planning to make a move for Anthony Patterson, the goalkeeper for Sunderland, in order to replace Caoimhin Kelleher.

With almost 100 games under his belt for the Black Cats, Patterson, 23, has established himself as one of the Championship’s most promising prospects.

Journalist Alan Nixon claims that a number of Premier League teams, including Celtic, are interested in signing the Republic of Ireland player, and Kelleher is anticipated to depart Anfield this season.

Kelleher is regarded by Virgil van Dijk as a “world-class” player, thus losing him would be devastating for Liverpool considering how strong of a backup goalie Kelleher is for Alisson Becker.

Nonetheless, Patterson might be a good Kelleher substitute; the Sunderland goalkeeper is expected to have a bright football future after emerging as a star in the Championship.

Anthony Patterson might be the ideal Caoimhin Kelleher substitute for Liverpool.

Kelleher, a 25-year-old who is prepared to start as a goalkeeper for a Premier League team or a major European team, is obviously too talented to be sitting on Liverpool’s bench.

And with Patterson showing why he is such a promising potential, the Reds may already have their ideal Kelleher replacement. The young player from Sunderland

For any player, it’s an incredible accomplishment to play goalkeeping for a team the size of the Black Cats and make over 100 appearances by the age of 23.

Furthermore, Patterson—an England youth international who may eventually debut for Liverpool—could be the best choice to replace Kelleher as Alisson’s backup for Liverpool.
