Report: Braves agree to trade star player

Dylan Cease ‘will be traded,’ according to the Braves.

The number of available aces is decreasing. Tyler Glasnow has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Atlanta appears to be out of the running for free agent Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

That brings everyone’s attention back to where we started: Dylan Cease.

The White Sox have been patient in their choice to trade one of their best starting pitchers. “At some point, Dylan Cease is going to be traded,” The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal predicted earlier this week on the Foul Territory podcast.

This is consistent with all of the talk this offseason about Cease and whether a contender would look to the White Sox to assist them push all of their chips to the center of the table.

Early on, Atlanta appeared to be interested in Cease. Perhaps the asking price will fall with time.

When do pitchers and catchers have to report?
55 days. Atlanta is likely to request pitchers and catchers report on Monday, February 12th, ahead of their first spring training game against the Tampa Bay Rays on February 24th. The official reporting date will be announced in January.

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ recent signings of Shohei Ohtani and Tyler Glasnow have increased their betting odds of winning the World Series.
