Dorian Thompson-Robinson of the Browns remains in the concussion protocol.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson, the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, suffered a concussion during the team’s 29–12 loss to the Broncos. He is currently undergoing concussion protocol. According to Scott Petrak, Thompson-Robinson is back to practicing even though he is following concussion protocol.

Following his entry into the protocol, Thompson-Robinson has missed just one game thus far. The UCLA graduate finished the Broncos game having completed 48.3% of his throws for 134 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. DTR has started three games and completed 53.2% of his throws for 429 yards and one touchdown, with four interceptions.

Joe Flacco might make his second start since joining the Browns this season if Thompson-Robinson is unable to play. This past week against the Los Angeles Rams, Flacco had a respectable first start. The Browns lost 36-19, and he completed 23-44 for 254 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. But following the defeat, Flacco rejoined the practice squad.

Sadly, the Browns’ defense has only won one game with Thompson-Robinson and Flacco starting, not nearly enough to make up for the lack of offense and quarterback play. Despite Cleveland’s 2-1 record when P.J. Walker started, they don’t seem willing to stick with him as the starting quarterback because of his turnover issues. They probably wanted to give DTR another opportunity because of his outstanding preseason performance. He’ll probably start this week if he passes protocol.

With a close AFC race ahead of them, the Browns cannot afford to lose many games if they hope to still make the playoffs. They must defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend in order to advance to their winnable games against the Chicago Bears and New York Jets.
