The Chiefs president expresses his view on Harrison Butker’s infamous ‘homemaker’ comments.

The Kansas City Chiefs president spoke about his kicker Harrison Butker’s contentious comments at a graduating ceremony last spring.

Butker’s lecture at Benedictine College included divisive statements against President Joe Biden, the LGBTQ+ community, and abortion, among other things.

Chiefs president Mark Donovan told Variety that he has had ‘a lot of positive interactions with Harrison’ since the remark. He also stated that his objective is to respect everyone, regardless of their views.
‘You have to look at it from the standpoint of a team and a locker room. “There are people with different opinions in our locker room, just like in any other family,” he explains. One of the things we preach is

‘So I appreciate Harrison’s viewpoint. I do not necessarily agree with him. He has to understand that I do not always agree with him, and we must express this. And it was one of the topics we discussed, and he was really supportive of it.
Donovan continued: ‘It is used in practically every occasion in a positive manner. Make a decision based on respect. We’ve had conflicts in the locker room with men before — not to be political, but there are guys in the locker next to him wearing a Black Lives Matter cap and a Make America Great Again hat.

‘You can believe those things, which may disagree in certain respects, but you’ll play together and appreciate one another.’
Shortly after the speech, NFL senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer Jonathan Beane stated, “His views do not represent those of the NFL as an organization.” The NFL remains committed in its commitment to inclusivity, which only strengthens the league.

Butker recently spoke with Fox News on his statements, especially stating that a woman’s’most significant title’ should be ‘homemaker’.

‘I was attempting to speak life for so many women who had committed their lives to being homemakers.
