Breaking: Dundee United closing in on deal to sign 28-year-old ADO den Haag striker.

Van der Sande is a fans' favourite at ADO den Haag

The 28-year-old is currently on the books of ADO den Haag in the Dutch second tier.

Dundee United hopes to finalize the signing of striker Jort van der Sande from Dutch club ADO den Haag.

According to The Scottish Sun, the Tangerines are in early talks with the 28-year-old frontman, who has previously represented the Caribbean country of Bonaire.

Courier Sport believes that an agreement has yet to be signed, and the player is still practicing with the Eerste Division club ahead of the new season.

Nonetheless, both sides are sure that a deal will be reached, with van der Sande believed to be eager to test his luck in the Scottish Premiership.

The talented forward scored 13 goals and eight assists in 39 appearances last season and has previously played for NAC Breda, FC Eindhoven, and FC Den Bosch. He can also play in wide areas and as an attacking midfielder.

Van der Sande would join Tannadice’s senior attacking pool, which already includes Louis Moult and Tony Watt, with Rory MacLeod and Owen Stirton providing as youthful backup.

United have already signed seven players this summer in preparation for their return to the Premiership, including Jack Walton, Dave Richards, Vicko Sevelj, Will Ferry, Ryan Strain, Kristijan Trapanovski, and David Babunski.
